Governor Celebrates Youth Service

We are having a great season wtih the 2009 Baltimore Ravens and M&T Bank Honor Rows program. In partnership with the Governor’s Office on Service and Volunteerism, the Honor Rows program recognizes outstanding youth leadership and service across the state. The Honor Rows recipients win a state-wide competition and receive up to 100 tickets to each Ravens home game each season.

On Sunday, November 1st, three community youth groups were honored for their participation in service projects to fulfill needs in their community. Thanks to the Day Dream Kids Foundation of Anne Arundel County for collecting money and supplies for local charities like the SPCA and homeless shelters. Frankfort High School students from West Virginia made a difference by sending care packages overseas among other initiatives. The Youth Action Corps of Frederick County gave back to the community by visiting nursing homes and participating in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Walk.

These energetic and caring young people personify the ideals of civic engagement and truly make our One Maryland a Better Maryland.

  • Nonprofit staff learn the best practices of volunteer management;
  • Businesses develop community service programs for employees as well as develop and reach community outreach and corporate giving goals; and
  • Nonprofit and government agencies recruit and train new volunteers.
